Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued five abducted women, including a mother and her infant, during a swift operation in Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The troops reportedly acted on intelligence regarding the movement of terrorists around the Madaci Forest area and swiftly mobilised to intercept the suspects through tactical manoeuvres.

According to the operation’s account, the military intervention disrupted the terrorists and created an opportunity for the troops to safely rescue the victims.

The rescued persons comprised a mother and her infant, alongside three other minors and young adults from Danja and Funtua Local Government Areas of Katsina State.

The victims were subsequently handed over to the Chairman of Bakori Local Government Area, Hon. Abubakar Musa, for reunification with their families.

Meanwhile, the troops have sustained aggressive patrols and surveillance operations in the area as part of efforts to dominate the forest, restrict the movement of terrorists and prevent further attacks on surrounding communities.

The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by security forces under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to protect vulnerable communities and rescue persons held by criminal elements in the region.
