Osun group carpets Adesiyan over comments on Osun State

By Richard Akintade, Osogbo

A socio-political group, Osun Democrats for Democracy (ODD) yesterday carpeted Mr Jelil Adesiyan as a failed politician with no positive contributions to either state or national development.

Responding to Adesiyan’s call for state of emergency in Osun state, the group in a statement by its Publicity Director, Arákùnrin James Bamgbose, lambasted the former police affairs minister as an anti-people and anti-democracy politician whose hatred for the Adeleke family knows no bounds.

“Ode-Omu, where Adesiyan hails from, has benefited immensely from the current administration. Yet, the expired politician is angry about the ongoing delivery of democratic dividends even to his own people.

“Cooperative College, Ode-Omu has just been upgraded to a degree awarding institution while several internal roads are being constructed in the town. While Adesiyan failed to bring good governance to his people, Governor Adeleke has positively touched the town of Ode-Omu.

“We expect Adesiyan to commend Governor Adeleke for his delivery of democratic dividends instead of his frustrated clamor for a state of emergency. Osun of today is truly not what Adesiyan used to know.

“Osun has witnessed rapid development across all sectors in the last two years. Major towns are being upgraded. Half salaries and pension debt which Adesiyan’s party refused to pay are being paid. Health and school facilities are being upgraded and renovated.

“Adesiyan as a failed minister of police and a frustrated political actor cannot understand how Osogbo has changed rapidly for the better. The positive happenings in Osun dazed him as a politician who failed to deliver any meaningful development to his own people.

“His agitation for a state of emergency is therefore the ranting of an outdated politician who is not in touch with the reality of today’s Osun state and who hates the good life Osun is experiencing under the current administration. Even within his APC, nobody takes him seriously as the man cannot even deliver his voting unit.

“We urge men and women of goodwill to ignore the reprehensible statement from this outdated politician. Osun is progressing and there is no basis for declaration of a state of emergency” the statement concluded.
