The Osun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, has applauded Governor Ademola Adeleke for approving immediate appointment of freelance staff of Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC).

The Governor, while delivering his speech at the commissioning of six digital radio transmitters and equipment purchased for the state government for the state owned media outlet directed immediate engagement of the freelance staff who have been working for the corporation for more than ten years without pay.

A release jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun State Council Comrades Wasiu Ajadosu and Adeyemi Aboderin described the gesture from the governor as highly commendable and first since the establishment of the broadcast conglomerate.

The release noted that members of the fourth estate of the realm will forever be grateful to the Asiwaju of Ede land for the approval given for immediate employment of the freelancers into the State civil service.

It added that the gesture will enhance productivity and increase work rate of staffers as well as raise the bar at the State owned media outlet.

Osun NUJ equally commended the Governor for the purchase and commissioning of new radio equipment for Osun State Broadcasting Corporation which is hoped at further enhancing the status of the corporation as the Regional Voice of the West.

It enjoined the newly engaged staff to reciprocate the gesture by continuing to support the government of the day in its quest to better the life of the people of the state.
