OurNigeria News Award 2021: Paramount Ruler of Eleme harps on Nigeria’s unity
The Paramount Ruler of Eleme Kingdom in Rivers State, HRH Emere Sir Emperor John Dimkpa Nkpe II JP, has called on Nigerians to shun the agitation for separation of the country and join hands together to unite Nigeria.
The paramount ruler made the call on Friday during the 2021 OurNigeria News Magazine Awards held at Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.
Nkpe, who was honoured with the ICON of National Unity award, urged Nigerians to see religion as part of society.
He warned against discrimination adding that it leads to disunity.
The traditional ruler further urged Nigerians to keep their differences aside and work towards making Nigeria a great nation.
The HRH Emere Sir Emperor John Dimkpa Nkpe II JP, Amb. P was Born on the 4th of April, 1957 in the farm where the present pioneer refinery in Nigeria situates into the Royal family of Jike Ochenya of Alesa-Nchia, in Eleme LGA of Rivers State.
His primary education was at the then Holy Trinity Primary School.
He attended Enitoria High School, Port Harcourt for his secondary education before proceeding to the Regina Caeli Teachers’ Training College Bori, where he qualified as a professional Teacher, before proceeding to the Rivers State University of Science and Technology for his Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science.
HRH has served as a teacher and taught Agricultural Science in several schools including Comprehensive High School AlesaEleme and Ascension High School, Nchia-Eleme for 22 years before voluntarily retiring to ascend the exalted Throne of OnehEh Alesa-Eleme X (Paramount Ruler) when the kingmakers, Chiefs and good people of Alesa-Eleme selected him.
HRH has engaged in several philanthropic gestures with the Emperor Foundation Plaorm were scholarships for the less privileged and indigent students and rehabilitation of widows are undertaken, employment and skills acquisition for youths and the building and furnishing of facilities for the Nigerian Police Force (Eleme Police Area Command), the Nigerian Army Camp, ElemeFederal Road Safety and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps
(NSCDC) offices renovaons.
The Paramount Ruler has brokered several conflict resolution meetings among communities in Eleme for a conducive industrial harmony for societal growth as an ardent lover of dialogue in Conflict Resolution. He has written several books and received over 200 local and international awards in recognition of his
efforts in making society great. He is a Grand Patron and
Patron of many organizations.
Emperor John Dimkpa Nkpe II is happily married, blessed with children and grandchildren. His hobbies include farming, reading.
