Oyebanji Promises Greater Development After Re-Election in Ekiti
Re-elected Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has pledged to build on the achievements of his first term and intensify the implementation of policies aimed at improving the welfare of residents across the state.
Speaking shortly after being declared winner of the June 20 governorship election, Oyebanji said his administration would remain focused on delivering people-centred programmes and projects that promote development and improve living standards.
The governor also extended an olive branch to his opponents, urging all contestants and political stakeholders to put the election behind them and work together for the progress and unity of Ekiti State.
He expressed appreciation to Nigerians and the people of Ekiti State for their support and confidence in his administration, assuring them that he would not take the renewed mandate for granted.
Oyebanji particularly thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support and encouragement throughout the electoral process.
The governor also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies and other stakeholders for ensuring a peaceful, credible and orderly election.
According to him, the successful conduct of the poll reflects the growing strength of Nigeria’s democratic process and the commitment of institutions to safeguarding the will of the people.
He assured residents that his second term would focus on consolidating gains recorded in key sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic development, while pursuing policies that would further enhance prosperity across the state.
