Tinubu Ends Working Vacation, Returns to Nigeria Through Lagos

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his working vacation and departed Paris, France, for Nigeria, with his aircraft expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, later this evening.

The President chose to return through Lagos to honour the memory of Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993, presidential election and a symbol of Nigeria’s democratic struggle.

On Independence Day, October 1, Tinubu is scheduled to attend the premiere of a film celebrating Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.

During his stay in Lagos, the President is also expected to hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates over several days as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.

Tinubu departed Abuja on August 30 for his working vacation, spending one week in London before proceeding to Paris.

While in France, he attended a private dinner with President Emmanuel Macron and held meetings with business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group and Femi Otedola, Chairman of First Holdings.

Last week, the President witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World for the development of the Gateway Deep Seaport at Ogun Waterside and a Blue Marine Special Economic Zone.

DP World, one of the world’s leading ports and logistics operators, is expected to invest $7 billion in the proposed seaport and economic zone.

Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja after concluding his political engagements in Lagos.
