President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to demonstrate unity, discipline, and sportsmanship as the party begins its primary elections across the country.
The President’s message comes ahead of the House of Representatives primaries scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026, and the presidential primaries slated for May 25, 2026.
In a statement personally signed by him, President Tinubu urged aspirants and party members to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct throughout the exercise, stressing the need to avoid actions capable of undermining party cohesion.
He further advised contestants who may not emerge victorious to accept the outcome in good faith and rally behind the winners in the collective interest of the party and national development.
President Tinubu also emphasized the importance of increasing the participation of women and youths in the political process, describing their inclusion as essential to strengthening internal democracy and party growth.
He wished all aspirants success in the forthcoming primaries, reaffirming his commitment to a stable and united APC ahead of future electoral contests.
