In a significant acknowledgment of educational progress within the Nigerian Army, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja has praised Maj Gen Bello Alhaji Tsoho, Commander of the Nigerian Army Education Corps (NAEC), for his forward-thinking leadership.

This commendation highlights Maj Gen Tsoho’s successful implementation of innovative policies, notably a new admission policy in Command Secondary Schools that has expanded access to quality education for children of Army personnel.

Representing Gen Lagbaja at the NAEC Second Quarter Conference and Maiden Research, Development and Innovation Exhibition 2024, Maj Gen Obinna Onubogu, General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army, emphasized the significant strides made under Tsoho’s guidance.

The event, held at the Nigerian Army Institute of Science Education and Technology (NAISET) in Ilorin, underscored the Army’s commitment to excellence in education and innovation.

“The Commander NAEC’s commitment to educational research, development, and innovation has greatly improved teaching and learning within the Corps,” said Gen Lagbaja.

He also commended the personnel for their dedication, urging them to continue upholding the ideals of excellence and service.

Gen Lagbaja revealed plans for extensive infrastructural developments, beginning with five pioneering Command Secondary Schools, to enhance the educational environment. He stressed the crucial role of Command Schools in molding future leaders and fostering a culture of knowledge and discipline.

Maj Gen Tsoho, in his welcome address, expressed deep gratitude for the COAS’s unwavering support.

He highlighted NAEC’s ongoing comprehensive transformation drive, encouraging personnel to align with this vision for achieving set objectives and propelling the Corps to greater heights.

The conference showcased remarkable innovations from Command Secondary Schools, including a fuelless electric generator, locally produced dry cell, biomass-generated cooking gas, and a smart house system, reflecting the Corps’ dedication to research and development.

This event not only celebrated past achievements but also set a visionary path for the future of education within the Nigerian Army, underlining the critical role of innovative leadership in driving progress.
