We’ve active engagement with security agencies to secure Bauchi – Gov Bala

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (Kaura) of Bauchi state on Tuesday stated that the state government is in an active engagement with security agencies to secure the state and ensure peaceful coexistence.

Explained that in spite of the relative peace in Bauchi which he described as one of the peaceful states in Nigeria, the government is committed to addressing some security challenges in the state.

The Governor who commended various Police Commissioners (CP) who worked in the state for what he called their outstanding performance in the fighting crime and criminality in the state urged the newly posted police boss build on what have been achieved in policing for the growth and development of the state.

Kaura made the call during a courtesy to him by the new CP, Mr Abiodun Sylvester Alabi. The governor stated that his administration has inception been working in active synergy with security agencies including the police for peace and security of the state.

The governor appealed for more collaboration in fighting the common enemy and for the peaceful coexistence of the state. He disclosed that the government had concluded plans to donate a number of patrol vehicles to security agencies for effective surveillance.

On his part, CP Alabi assured that his team will work assiduously to ensure the peaceful coexistence of the state. He also promised to use his experience in policing to bear in order to assist the state government in tackling all forms of crime and criminality in the state.

He said: “I am here to introduce myself to you as the new Police Commissioner for Bauchi state. I have heard about your support to the police from my predecessor and we must commend and appreciate your support to the police in Bauchi”.

“I am happy to inform you that, in the Bauchi State Police Command we have many professional officers who can assist me and indeed the government to address security challenges facing the state,” Alabi assured.
