Zulum Dissolves Borno State Executive Council Ahead of Elections
Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has approved the immediate dissolution of the Borno State Executive Council.
The decision was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani, who explained that the move is aimed at creating an enabling environment for council members interested in contesting elective positions in the forthcoming general elections.

According to the directive, all commissioners are to hand over the affairs of their respective ministries to Permanent Secretaries on or before Friday, April 3, 2026.
Governor Zulum expressed appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their service, commending their dedication, commitment, and contributions to the development of Borno State.
The dissolution marks a significant political step as preparations begin to gather momentum ahead of the next electoral cycle.
