“Borno State has supported me and prayed for me continuously. Your Excellency you have made our work here in Borno extremely easy, if all Governor’s will be like you in giving the armed forces maximum co-operation, security problem will be dealt with completely,” he added.

He also applauded the troops of operation Hadin Kai in North east Nigeria, praising their efforts and sacrifices in the fight against insurgency.

Governor Zulum in his remarks noted that in the last 18 months close to 140,000 Boko Haram members and their families have repented.

“Now that you are the Chief of Defence Staff and management of repentant Boko Haram is under your purview, I think we shall work assiduously with you,” the Governor said.

Zulum also noted that the UN 2017 resolution states that military operations have to be followed by stabilisation mechanism,

“What we mean by stabilisation mechanisms is to reconstruct, rehabilitate and resettled and also addressing the root cause of the insurgency which is not limited to poverty illiteracy, increasing poverty and climate vulnerability,” he noted.
