The Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Farouk Umar 11 has turbaned Former Deputy of Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Audu Sule-Katagum as the 9th Wazirin Katagum who takes over from his late father Alhaji Sule Katagum.

Wazirin Katagum is a senior official of the emirate and administrative adviser to the emir and the emirate.
The 9th Wazirin Katagum was turbaned by the Emir Faruq Umar 11, later the new Waziri also turbaned two other title holders of the emirate that include Marafan Katagum and Dujjiman Katagum respectively.
Sule-Katagum was turbaned by the emir at a ceremony on Saturday in Azare town, Katagum Local Government area of Bauchi state which was attended by dignitaries from different parts of the country.
The Emir urged the new Waziri to work diligently for the progress of the land and to be upright and avoid anything that would tarnish the image of the Katagum emirate.
According to him, the title was based on merit and urged him to discharge his duties with utmost fear of God.
“Always justify the confidence reposed in you by being steadfast and providing meaningful advice to the emirate,” he said
The new Wazirin Katagum became a Chief Staff to the former Gov Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State from.2015 to 2018 and became Deputy Governor from.2018 to 2019.
Meanwhile, Gov Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed congratulated Architect Audu Sule Katagum, a former Deputy Governor in the state, on his well deserved appointment as the new Wazirin Katagum.
Represented by his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau, the Governor said Audu Katagum has served the state with utmost dedication and loyalty, having played a pivotal role as the former Deputy Governor in the state.
According to him, throughout his tenure as former Deputy Governor, Audu Katagum has shown unwavering commitment to his responsibilities, working tirelessly for the success of their administration for improved social and economic conditions of the citizens of the state.
“On behalf of the Government and the good people of the State we are grateful for the invitation to participate in this auspicious occasion, the turbaning ceremony of a well-deserving individual, Audu Sule Katagum, as the Wazirin Katagum. This event symbolises the recognition of his remarkable contributions to our beloved Bauchi state and his unwavering dedication towards the progress and prosperity of our great nation.”
“I congratulate His Excellency Audu Sule Katagum, on your turbaning as the Wazirin Katagum,” he said
The dignitaries that attended the turbaning ceremony are the Bauchi State Deputy Governor Auwal Jatau, former Governor of Bauchi State Mohammed Abubakar and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb Yusuf Tuggar.
Others are Secretary to Government of Federation( SGF) Goerge Akume represented by His Chief of Staff Christopher Tarfa,Emir of Fika, Mohammed Abbali among other traditional rulers within and outside the state.
