Tinubu Reshuffles Cabinet: Sacks Five Ministers, Nominates Seven New Ones

President Bola Tinubu initiated a major cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday, dismissing five ministers and nominating seven new candidates for Senate confirmation. The reshuffle also saw the re-assignment of ten ministers to new portfolios.
Among the new nominations is Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who has been tapped as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Nentawe Yilwatda was nominated as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, marking the official end of Betta Edu’s tenure in that position.
Other key nominations include Maigari Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment, Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Idi Maiha to head the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development, Yusuf Ata as Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development, and Suwaiba Ahmad as Minister of State, Education.
The ministers relieved of their duties include Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Gwarzo (State, Housing and Urban Development), and Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development).
President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the outgoing ministers for their service to the nation, wishing them success in their future endeavors. He urged the new and re-assigned ministers to view their roles as a call to serve, stressing the administration’s determination to drive Nigeria towards sustainable growth and progress.
