Beeta Arts Festival 2025: A Milestone Celebration of African Creativity

By Jerry Adesewo

The Beeta Arts Festival is set to return with an electrifying burst of creativity as it marks its 5th anniversary from 5th–7th December 2025 in Abuja. Themed “Connected Voices,” this year’s edition promises to be its most ambitious yet, weaving together art, activism, policy, technology, and entertainment into a vibrant cultural showcase. Over the years, the festival has welcomed more than 10,000 attendees and featured programming from 13 countries, but the 2025 lineup raises the bar higher than ever.

A Festival That Blends Art and Advocacy

The opening day, tagged ARTVOCACY Day, sets the tone with a powerful convening at the National Assembly Library Conference Hall. Here, religious leaders, policymakers, actresses, and tech innovators will explore how storytelling and technology can combat gender-based violence and reshape harmful cultural norms. This fusion of creativity and social impact highlights the festival’s commitment to strengthening communities through narrative power.

Later that afternoon, literature takes center stage with a virtual conversation featuring author Amaka Azie, unpacking how young adult fiction can guide teens through trauma, resilience, and healing. The evening concludes with an exclusive cocktail event hosted at the Botswana Ambassador’s Residence—a gathering point for diplomats, cultural leaders, and investors to officially launch the anniversary celebrations in style.

A Creative Takeover at the Abuja Continental Hotel

On Saturday, 6th December, the Abuja Continental Hotel transforms into a buzzing cultural powerhouse. One of the flagship events is “Hire the Creative Live!”, a groundbreaking UNDP x NJFP initiative designed to directly link creative professionals with employers. Highlights include a keynote on the creative sector’s potential as an employment engine, a star-studded panel featuring Dimbo Atiya and Rahama Sadau, legal sessions from Wigwe & Partners, and roundtable engagements focused on creative monetization and entrepreneurship.

Running alongside this are deep literary conversations with authors Ndidi Chiazor Enenwor and Zainab Uche Imam, who explore African identity through travel writing and urban storytelling. Workshops on gender equity in storytelling, AI-enhanced creativity led by digital artist Malik Afegbua, and investor pitching sessions at The Bridge Room all create a space where ideas, technology, and capital intersect.

Beyond formal sessions, festivalgoers can immerse themselves in stage plays, film screenings, art installations, drum circles, creative games, canvas painting, and the ever-popular storytelling under the coconut tree. A bustling festival market featuring designers, artisans, and food vendors completes the experience, ensuring the day is packed with discovery and delight.

A Grand Finale of Connected Voices

Sunday sustains the energy with continued screenings, performances, workshops, and creative explorations until the curtain rises on the festival’s showpiece: VARIETY NIGHT. This closing celebration brings together spoken word poets, headline musicians, dancers, comedians, and a special guest headliner for an unforgettable evening of performance excellence. A VIP reception and post-show meet-and-greet cap off the night, giving attendees the chance to interact directly with the stars of the festival.

Accessing the Festival

Most festival events are free but require registration, while stage plays and special sessions offer paid passes, including the Daily Immersion Pass, Weekend Explorer Pass, and the special Culture Crew Pass for groups. Venues span the National Assembly, the Botswana Ambassador’s Residence, and the Abuja Continental Hotel, with registration available via the festival website.

A Celebration Not to Miss

The Beeta Arts Festival 2025 is more than an event—it is a convergence of creativity, culture, innovation, and community. Whether you are an artist, professional, policy thinker, student, or simply a lover of the arts, this anniversary edition invites you to be part of a story bigger than any single discipline: the story of Africa’s connected creative voices.
