With the new project, BUA Cement Plc’s total annual production capacity will rise to 20 million tons, further strengthening the company’s position as one of Nigeria’s leading cement producers. The new production line will be powered by BUA’s Kogi LNG plant, ensuring efficient and sustainable energy supply.

Rabiu expressed optimism that the Sokoto expansion will significantly boost cement availability across Nigeria’s North-West and neighbouring regional markets, with completion targeted within 20 months.

He also acknowledged that the rapid progress of the project is supported by the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which have created a more enabling environment for large-scale industrial investments.

The latest expansion underscores BUA Group’s continued commitment to deepening local manufacturing capacity, supporting infrastructure development, and driving economic growth across Nigeria.
