Captain A.B. Bature, a member of the 64 Regular Course, has etched his name into the history of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, as the most decorated cadet to date.
Bature achieved the rare feat during the first combined Passing Out Parade of the 64 Regular Course and 65 Regular Course (Navy and Air Force Cadets), where he practically swept all major awards on offer, earning widespread admiration for his exceptional performance.
His outstanding accomplishments prompted the Academy to unveil a statue in his honour, a gesture meant to immortalize his brilliance, discipline, focus, and dedication to excellence.
Among the prestigious awards he clinched were Best Graduating Cadet of the 64 Regular Course, the Indian Shield for excellence in cadet tactics, the Gold Medal (Army) for emerging overall best among Army cadets, and the Golden Sword of Honour, awarded to the best all-round cadet across academics, military training, character, and discipline.
Academy officials described Bature’s achievement as unprecedented, noting that his record-setting performance reflects years of hard work and commitment to the core values of the Armed Forces.
