The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has convened its Second Quarter 2026 Corps Marshal Strategy Session, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening institutional capacity and improving service delivery amid evolving operational challenges.
Held under the theme, “Strengthening Institutional Capacity for Enhanced Service Delivery in a Challenging Operating Environment,” the strategic session brought together members of the FRSC High Command to review the Corps’ second-quarter performance, evaluate the implementation of previous resolutions, identify emerging challenges, and develop practical strategies to improve operations across all commands.
Declaring the session open, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, represented by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Dr. Ibrahim Kana, commended the FRSC for its invaluable contributions to national security and its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property on Nigeria’s highways.
In his welcome address, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, called on participants to embrace innovation, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, promote accountability, and develop actionable resolutions that would further reposition the Corps for greater operational efficiency and excellence.
The session also featured a keynote presentation by the President and Chairman of Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku, who spoke on “Reputation Management and Rebuilding Public Trust.” He highlighted the importance of effective communication, institutional credibility, and public confidence in driving sustainable service delivery.
The strategy session is expected to produce practical recommendations that will enhance the FRSC’s operational effectiveness, strengthen institutional performance, and further its mandate of ensuring safer roads and improved road safety nationwide.
