Police Boss Approves Major Shake-Up, Deploys Senior Officers Nationwide

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved a wide-ranging redeployment of senior officers across the Nigeria Police Force as part of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, leadership capacity, and service delivery nationwide.

The strategic postings, announced on Tuesday, are in line with the Force’s commitment to enhancing its command structure and ensuring effective deployment of personnel across Commands, Formations, and Departments.

Among the redeployments, AIG Ado Emmanuel has been posted to the Department of Research and Planning at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, while AIG Joseph Eribo will head the Department of Armament. AIG Miller G. Dantawaye has been assigned to the Department of Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche to Training and Development.

Other postings include AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo to Police Accounts and Budget, and AIG Dahiru Mohammed to Zone 15, Maiduguri. AIG Dankombo F. Morris will oversee Zone 4, Makurdi, while AIG Bello Shehu takes charge of Zone 14, Katsina. AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh has been deployed to Zone 2, Lagos.

At the Commissioner of Police level, CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya has been posted to Jigawa State Command, CP Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola to Oyo State Command, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi to Delta State Command, and CP Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun State Command.

Similarly, CP Michael Adegoroye Falade has been assigned to Ekiti State Command, CP Yakubu Useni Dankaro to Adamawa State Command, and CP Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed to the Federal Capital Territory Command. CP Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai will now head Lagos State Command, while CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello has been deployed to Zamfara State Command.

Several other senior officers were also assigned to key units, including INTERPOL, the Special Protection Unit, the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), and training institutions, reflecting a comprehensive restructuring across critical departments.

The IGP charged the officers to bring their wealth of experience to bear in their new roles and uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and service.

The latest postings form part of broader efforts by the police leadership to enhance operational effectiveness and improve public confidence in the Force.
