Former Arsenal FC midfielder Mathieu Flamini has reiterated his openness to potentially buying the club, years after building a fortune in the business world following his retirement from football.

Flamini, who hung up his boots in 2019, has since become a billionaire through his co-founding of GF Biochemicals in 2008 alongside business partner Pasquale Granata. The company focuses on sustainable chemical solutions aimed at reducing environmental pollution, and its success has significantly boosted Flamini’s net worth, reportedly placing him in a strong financial position to consider major investments, including football ownership.
In a past interview, the Frenchman expressed emotional ties to Arsenal, describing the club as having a “special place” in his heart. He noted that while nothing is certain, he would be open to exploring an opportunity to run a football club if the right conditions, vision, and partners align.
Flamini also credited Arsenal legends Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp for shaping his work ethic during his playing days, highlighting their competitive mentality and influence on his professional journey.
Despite Flamini’s interest, current owner Stan Kroenke has shown no indication of selling the club. Kroenke, who first became a shareholder in 2007 before taking full ownership in 2018, has consistently maintained that Arsenal is not for sale and remains central to his long-term ambitions.
The American billionaire previously dismissed takeover speculation, including interest from other high-profile investors, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening the club’s competitiveness and pursuing major trophies.
While Flamini’s financial rise has sparked fresh conversation among fans about a potential future bid, any change in ownership appears unlikely for now, with Kroenke firmly in control of the North London club.
