The NELFUND delegation was led by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Akintunde Sawyerr.
Discussions at the meeting centred on strengthening collaboration between both institutions, with a focus on linking access to education to innovation, skills development, and enhanced national productivity.
As part of the engagement, Halilu led the delegation on a tour of NASENI’s facilities, where they were introduced to several homegrown technological solutions, including the Innovation Hub, solar irrigation systems, the HatchBox initiative, and electric vehicles developed by the agency.
Speaking during the visit, Halilu reaffirmed NASENI’s commitment to bridging the gap between knowledge and practical application through its “3Cs” framework—Creation, Collaboration, and Commercialisation.
He noted that strategic partnerships such as the one with NELFUND are critical to ensuring that investments in education translate into tangible economic outcomes, particularly through innovation-driven skills and enterprise development.
The visit underscores growing efforts by government institutions to align education financing with technological advancement and workforce readiness, as Nigeria continues to prioritise youth empowerment and industrial growth.
