Abdulsamad Rabiu Nears $20bn Milestone as Wealth Surges on Strong Business Growth
Nigerian industrialist Abdulsamad Rabiu has recorded a major rise in personal wealth, with his net worth climbing to around $19 billion according to recent estimates by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, placing him among Africa’s wealthiest individuals.
The increase in his fortune has positioned the BUA Group chairman as Africa’s second-richest individual behind Aliko Dangote, whose wealth remains significantly ahead of the continent’s billionaires list.
Market analysts attribute the surge in Rabiu’s wealth largely to the strong performance of his major listed companies, particularly BUA Foods and BUA Cement, which have recorded growth in earnings and investor valuation in recent months.
Reports indicate that BUA Foods has continued to post strong financial results, while BUA Cement has also benefited from expansion projects and rising market activity. These developments have significantly boosted the value of Rabiu’s holdings.
Rabiu, founder of the diversified BUA Group conglomerate, has interests spanning cement production, food processing, manufacturing and infrastructure development.
His rise in wealth further strengthens Nigeria’s presence among Africa’s top-ranked billionaires.
