NNPC Signs Six Strategic Agreements to Boost Gas Supply, Industrial Growth

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has signed six strategic agreements with key industry partners in a move aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s gas sector, enhancing energy security, and accelerating industrial development.

The agreements, which include Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), Gas Supply Agreements (GSAs), and gas transportation arrangements, were executed on the sidelines of the ongoing 25th NOG Energy Week in Abuja.

According to NNPC Ltd, the partnerships represent a significant milestone in the country’s drive towards industrial revitalisation through increased domestic gas utilisation and improved energy infrastructure.

Among the agreements signed is a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited (ASCL), as well as a Gas Sale Aggregation Agreement (GSAA) with the steel company to support its operations.

The national oil company also signed a Gas Supply Agreement (GSA) with UTM Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (UTM FLNG) to strengthen gas supply for the country’s growing energy needs.

In addition, NNPC Ltd entered into Network Entry Agreements with Chevron Nigeria Limited, the Ajaokuta Gas Processing Company (AGPC), and NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL) to enhance gas transportation and distribution across the national gas network.

The company said the agreements are expected to improve collaboration across the gas value chain, increase the availability of natural gas for industrial and commercial use, and support the Federal Government’s efforts to drive economic growth through expanded gas infrastructure and cleaner energy solutions.
