Adamawa 2027 Aspirant Durkwa Condemns Guyaku Attack, Calls for Unity

A gubernatorial aspirant for the 2027 elections in Adamawa State, Ishaya Inuwa Durkwa, has condemned the recent attack on Guyaku community in Gombi Local Government Area, describing it as a “barbaric act of terrorism” against innocent civilians.

In a statement, Durkwa expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and destruction of property, extending condolences to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the traditional leadership in Gombi, and families affected by the tragedy.

“This heinous act is nothing short of terrorism. It is cruel, inhuman, and a direct assault on peace and human dignity,” he said.

The aspirant noted that despite ongoing efforts by the state government to strengthen security and maintain law and order, criminal elements continue to target vulnerable communities in the state.

He warned that such attacks not only result in loss of lives but also disrupt livelihoods, deepen hardship, and instill fear among residents.

Durkwa, however, urged the people of Guyaku and Gombi to remain resilient and united in the face of adversity, encouraging them not to give in to fear or despair.

“To the people of Guyaku and Gombi, do not allow your spirits to be broken. Stand together in unity and courage. We will mourn our dead, rebuild our homes, and restore our communities,” he said.

He reaffirmed confidence that Adamawa State would overcome the challenges posed by insecurity, stressing that collective effort and determination would ensure lasting peace and progress.

The attack on Guyaku comes amid renewed concerns over security in parts of Adamawa, with calls for sustained collaboration between government, security agencies, and local communities to address the threats.
