Andoma of Doma Pledges Continued Support for Nigerian Army, Prays for National Security
The Andoma of Doma Kingdom, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr Ahmadu Aliyu Ogga Onawo, has reaffirmed the commitment of the traditional institution and the people of Doma to supporting the Nigerian Army in its efforts to promote peace, stability and security across the country.
The traditional ruler gave the assurance on Friday, October 9, 2026, when the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Doma, Nasarawa State.
The visit was part of the Army Chief’s engagement with traditional institutions and host communities during his visit to Doma for the graduation ceremony of a Special Forces Battalion at the Nigerian Army Special Forces School.
The Andoma commended Lieutenant General Shaibu for his leadership and described the establishment of the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Doma as a significant contribution to the kingdom and its people.
He expressed appreciation for the Nigerian Army’s presence in the community and pledged the continued cooperation of the traditional institution in advancing mutual efforts towards peace and security.
The monarch also offered prayers for lasting peace, stability and security in Nigeria, expressing hope for stronger cooperation between security agencies, traditional rulers and local communities.
In his remarks, the COAS acknowledged the important role of traditional institutions in intelligence gathering, early warning, community engagement and the promotion of sustainable peace.
He appreciated the Andoma and the people of Doma for their continued support and hospitality, stressing that cooperation between the military and host communities remained essential to addressing contemporary security challenges.
