Buhari orders security chiefs to identify, takeout bandits, kidnappers sponsors

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the nation’s security chiefs to identify and takeout sponsors of bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements bedeviling the country.

The president also warned the security chiefs that a situation where bandits and kidnappers are dictating the pace in the fight against insecurity will no longer be tolerated.

This was revealed by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major-General Babagana Monguno (retd), who briefed State House Correspondents shortly after the meeting of security meeting with security chiefs.

The NSA stated that Buhari said a situation where the armed forces are reactionary rather than being proactive will no longer be achieved.

Monguno added that the President also insisted that all the decisions approved at the National Security Council meeting last month including a ban on mining activities in Zamfara as well as no fly zone in the state remains enforced until further notice.

He said that the action was to curb the rising insecurity in the state.
