Defending CAC Truth and Authority: Guarding the Covenant of Light

Introduction: A Church at the Crossroads
The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) is not merely a denomination; it is a covenant community birthed in revival, sanctified in holiness, and sustained by the uncompromising truth of God. From the thunderous ministry of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola to the enduring witness of CAC across nations, the Church has carried a sacred heritage that no rebellion, no distortion, and no deception can erase. Yet, history reminds us that in 1990, a rebellion arose—not reform, not renewal, but a coup against constituted authority under the 1943 Articles of Association and the 1985 Certificate of Incorporation (No. 147).

Today, as voices call for unity and revival, the question before us is clear: can CAC build a formidable future on a foundation of falsehood? The answer, according to Scripture and covenant history, is a resounding no. Revival without integrity is impossible. Unity without truth is fragile. Peace without repentance is deceptive.
Truth Versus Threats
Some voices still echo the old refrain: “forget the past and move on.” But forgetting is not healing; it is compromise. Silence is not unity; it is deception. And avoidance is not reconciliation; it is cowardice. Those who resist truth have not produced evidence, for there is none. Their arguments collapse under scrutiny, their claims evaporate before documentation, and their narratives crumble under the weight of Scripture.
Instead of repentance, they have chosen threats—intimidating those who dare to stand for truth. But can a leopard change its spots? Can a lion turn vegetarian? Their methods remain the same, their darkness unchanged. Yet the God of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, the God who thundered at Odo‑Owa, will never allow anyone to tamper with His covenant with CAC.
The Folly of Fading Numbers
Those who are fighting the truth and rebelling against it continue to rely on their numbers and their influence, but these are already fast fading. Scripture warns: “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many… but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel.” (Isaiah 31:1). Numbers without righteousness are vanity, influence without truth is emptiness, and power without covenant is futility.
The Psalmist declares: “The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.” (Psalm 33:10). Renewal theology reminds us that revival is never sustained by human strength or majority opinion, but by the Spirit of God breathing life into a people who walk in holiness and truth. The fading influence of rebellion is proof that God is dismantling false altars, exposing divided hearts, and calling His Church back to covenant obedience.
False Centenary: A Monument of Misrepresentation
It was on 24 November 2018 that the General Executive Council publicly staged what they called the “Centenary Celebration” of the Christ Apostolic Church. Yet this was not the true centenary of CAC, One Fold One Shepherd, with Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola as the first General Evangelist. The authentic centenary will not arrive until 2030, and this is precisely what the Supreme Council stands for and with. What was celebrated in 2018 was therefore not a milestone of covenant truth but a monument of misrepresentation, an opium of deception designed to pacify the public and consolidate undue domination.
The confusion arises from the use of 1918 as a reference point. While 1918 is indeed significant, it marks the rise of the Precious Stone Society in Ijebu‑Ode, a precursor movement that prepared the ground for what would later become CAC. It was an important historical moment, but it was not yet the covenantal birth of the Christ Apostolic Church. To equate 1918 with CAC’s centenary is to confuse heritage with covenant, precursor with foundation, and history with constitution. The covenantal identity of CAC was forged later—through the fire of revival, the authority of incorporation, and the apostolic mantle of Joseph Ayo Babalola.
Thus, the true centenary of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, One Fold One Shepherd, is 2030, not 2018. This is not a matter of opinion but of covenantal fact. Scripture warns against distortions of this kind: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.” (Isaiah 5:20). To celebrate prematurely is to call darkness light, to substitute deception for truth, and to mislead the faithful into false remembrance.
CAC must therefore return to the old paths of truth, holiness, and covenant fidelity, not invent new paths of deception. The Supreme Council’s stand on 2030 is not only historically accurate but spiritually necessary, for revival cannot be built upon false milestones. The Church was born in revival, must be restored in truth, and will be sustained only by the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
The Witness That Cannot Be Denied
The most compelling testimony in this saga is the repentance of the principal architect of the rebellion. Before his passing, he issued a public press release and swore to an affidavit, confessing the truth of the rebellion and acknowledging the error of their uprising. His repentance dismantled decades of false narratives, exposed the deception behind fabricated doctrines, vindicated the Supreme Council, and confirmed CAC’s constitutional history.
His confession stands as a divine witness that truth ultimately prevails, for as Scripture declares: “For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.” (2 Corinthians 13:8).
Scripture’s Verdict
The Word of God is unambiguous: “If we say we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth.” (1 John 1:6). And again: “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20).
When men cannot produce evidence against truth, Scripture concludes that there is no light in them. This is not my verdict. This is not CAC’s verdict. This is the verdict of the Word of God.
Creative Redemption: The Pattern of Hosea
Hosea’s prophecy reveals that prosperity without obedience breeds false altars, divided hearts, and misused blessings. Yet God overturns idolatry with judgement, heals divided hearts with covenant truth, and transforms misused blessings into restored obedience.
This is the divine rhythm of creative redemption: God dismantles what is false, purges what is corrupt, and renews what is broken, so that His people may walk again in the light of His covenant. The prophet declares: “Break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till He come and rain righteousness upon you.” (Hosea 10:12). This is not merely a call to ancient Israel; it is a living summons to CAC today.
The Call Before Us
The Christ Apostolic Church cannot build a formidable future on a foundation of falsehood. Unity without truth is fragile. Peace without repentance is deceptive. Revival without integrity is impossible.
Therefore, the call is clear: if they cannot provide evidence against the truth, they must repent. If they refuse repentance, Scripture itself declares that there is no light in them. This is not harshness; it is holiness. This is not condemnation; it is covenant. This is not division; it is divine order.
The prophetic mantle of CAC demands holiness, discipline, and submission to divine truth. The apostolic fire that birthed the Church must be rekindled—not through political manoeuvres, intimidation, or threats, but through prayer, repentance, and truth.
Conclusion: The Covenant Shall Stand
The Christ Apostolic Church was born in revival. It must be restored in truth. And it will be sustained by the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The premature celebration of 2018 cannot alter covenant history. The true centenary of CAC, One Fold One Shepherd, will be in 2030. To celebrate otherwise is to mislead the public and betray the covenant.
Those who resist truth must either produce evidence or repent. If they cannot produce evidence, repentance is their only path to light. If they refuse repentance, Scripture itself declares: there is no light in them.
May the Lord grant CAC Nigeria and Overseas the courage to stand for truth, the humility to embrace repentance, and the grace to walk in the light, so that the Church may rise again in purity, power, and prophetic integrity under the eternal Lordship of Jesus Christ.
