EFCC Boss Urges Students to Embrace Integrity, Entrepreneurship for National Development
The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has urged Nigerian students to uphold integrity, embrace entrepreneurship, and contribute meaningfully to national development as they prepare for future leadership roles.
Olukoyede gave the charge during the Prize-Giving Day and Graduation Ceremony of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) College, Asokoro, Abuja, where he encouraged graduating students to pursue excellence beyond academic achievements.
Represented by the Head of the EFCC’s Enlightenment and Reorientation Unit, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE II) Aisha Muhammed, the EFCC Chairman described graduation as the beginning of a new phase filled with opportunities, responsibilities, and greater expectations.
Delivering a lecture titled “The Journey Continues: Building a Legacy of Excellence,” Olukoyede stressed that true success is measured not only by certificates or academic awards but by the character, integrity, and positive impact individuals make in society.
“As we gather to celebrate outstanding achievements and reward excellence, we must remember that true success extends beyond certificates, prizes and academic distinctions. The real measure of success lies in the character we build, the values we uphold, the positive impact we make on others, and our commitment to integrity,” he said.
He urged the students to remain disciplined, resilient, and committed to continuous self-improvement, noting that excellence is a lifelong pursuit rather than a final destination.
According to him, integrity, perseverance, discipline, and a willingness to learn are essential qualities for building successful careers and making lasting contributions to society.
Addressing the graduating students, Olukoyede congratulated them on reaching an important milestone, describing their graduation as the culmination of years of dedication, learning, and determination.
While acknowledging the challenges they had overcome, he encouraged them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in school to positively impact their communities and the nation.
Earlier, the Director of NAOWA College, Major F.E. Eneche, attributed the successful graduation ceremony to the unwavering commitment, vision, and support of the school’s management, parents, and other stakeholders.
She congratulated the award recipients for their hard work, consistency, and dedication, urging them to remain focused on achieving even greater success in their future pursuits.
Representing the President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), the Head of the Education Committee, Mrs. Jenny Gbileka, encouraged the students to remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence.
She described the graduation ceremony as a celebration of dedication, academic excellence, and achievement, reminding the graduates that success is a continuous journey that requires resilience, confidence, integrity, and determination.
Gbileka urged the students to embrace every challenge as an opportunity for growth and remain committed to becoming responsible citizens capable of contributing positively to Nigeria’s development.
