The European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation to address Nigeria’s development challenges and create new opportunities for individuals and communities across the country.

The commitment was reiterated at a High-Level Strategic Partnership Meeting, where discussions focused on improving collaboration, enhancing programme delivery and accelerating development outcomes in Nigeria.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nigeria expressed appreciation for the EU’s continued support for initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Among the programmes highlighted was the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP), which seeks to expand employment and career opportunities for young Nigerians, and the Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF), which supports efforts to mobilise financing for Nigeria’s development priorities.

According to the UNDP, the initiatives demonstrate the value of strategic partnerships in addressing development needs and advancing shared goals.

The organisations reaffirmed the importance of sustained collaboration in translating commitments into tangible results that improve lives and promote sustainable development for people and the planet.
