From Revelation to Manifestation:

By Professor Ojo Emmanuel Ademola

The motto of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Overseas, One Fold, One Shepherd, is more than a slogan. It is a biblical vision rooted in John 10:16 and a prophetic call to unity, truth, love, holiness and shared mission. In a fragmented age, the fulfilment of this vision demands a movement from revelation to manifestation, from aspiration to reality, and from mere agreement to covenantal unity.

The story of God’s work has always been the story of revelation followed by manifestation. God reveals, and then God manifests. The revival associated with CAC in the 1930s was a revelation of divine power, prayer, holiness, evangelistic zeal and faith. Yet every revelation seeks manifestation. The revival that must endure until the Second Coming of Christ must become the manifestation of God’s continuing purpose through a united church living under the covenant of One Fold, One Shepherd.

In Yoruba reflection, this movement may be described as Ifihan ati Ifarahan – Revelation and Manifestation. Revelation unveils divine intent, while manifestation displays divine accomplishment. Throughout Scripture, God revealed His purpose to Abraham before fulfilling His promise. He revealed His plans to Joseph in dreams before elevating him in history. He revealed Christ through prophecy before manifesting redemption through the incarnation.

Likewise, the One Fold, One Shepherd vision cannot remain a cherished ideal. It must become visible in how leaders relate, how members cooperate, how generations interact and how the Church pursues its mission.

One sobering reality of our time is that people of darkness often find it easier and faster to unite in executing a project than people of light. Those committed to questionable causes frequently demonstrate remarkable levels of coordination. Meanwhile, those who share the same faith, the same Scriptures, the same salvation and the same Lord sometimes struggle to work together.

Jesus pointed to this challenge when He observed that the children of this world are often wiser in their generation than the children of light. The issue is not that darkness is stronger than light. Rather, darkness often appreciates the practical power of unity, while light sometimes underestimates it.

The builders of Babel united around an objective, and their collective effort generated extraordinary momentum. If people can cooperate around a misguided vision, how much more should God’s people unite around the Great Commission, holiness, revival and evangelism? One of the greatest threats to Kingdom advancement is not lack of talent, resources or opportunities, but the inability to sustain unity around divine purpose.

Psalm 133 reminds us how good and pleasant it is when brethren dwell together in unity. It concludes by teaching that the Lord commands the blessing where unity exists. The blessing follows unity. The glory follows unity. The harvest follows unity. Unity is therefore not merely organisational wisdom; it is a spiritual requirement for sustained effectiveness.

This has profound implications for CAC Nigeria and Overseas. The enduring revival desired by every generation will require enduring unity. A divided church cannot fully express an undivided Christ. The Church must rise above camps, personalities, preferences and rivalry and embrace a deeper understanding of spiritual family.

Yet authentic unity cannot be built upon pretence. It cannot be sustained by silence where truth ought to be spoken. This brings us to a crucial question: How do we know that we truly love if we cannot tell the truth?

Ephesians 4:15–16 provides the answer: Love should always make us tell the truth. Then we will grow in every way and become more like Christ, the head of the body. Truth and love are not competitors. They are covenant partners in spiritual maturity.

Many define love as avoiding difficult conversations. Others elevate truth without showing compassion. Scripture rejects both extremes. Love without truth becomes compromise. Truth without love becomes cruelty. The Gospel calls us to hold firmly to both.

This reality is grounded in the very nature of God. God is Love. Jesus is Truth. Because God is Love and Jesus is Truth, authentic Christianity can never separate the two. Love gathers. Truth guides. Love embraces. Truth transforms. Love unites. Truth sanctifies. Where love and truth meet, Christ is revealed.

The Cross remains the ultimate illustration. God’s love would not abandon humanity. God’s truth would not ignore sin. At Calvary, love and truth met together in perfect harmony. Redemption flowed from the union of both.

Therefore, if CAC is to attain the vision of One Fold, One Shepherd, love must be understood correctly. Love does not mean avoiding truth. Love means we can work together in truth. Love means we can disagree without becoming enemies. Love means we can correct without condemning. Love means we can pursue a common Kingdom purpose without surrendering biblical conviction.

The future strength of CAC Nigeria and Overseas will not rest merely upon structures, meetings, constitutions or programmes. It will depend upon relationships anchored in Christ, strengthened by truth and sustained by love.

When we refuse to tell the truth, unity becomes fragile. When we refuse to love, truth becomes destructive. But when truth and love work together, the Body grows, the mission advances and Christ is glorified.

The call of One Fold, One Shepherd invites every member and leader to place Christ above self, mission above ego and Kingdom priorities above personal interests. It challenges us to seek collective impact rather than individual prominence.

We must also distinguish between uniformity and unity. Uniformity demands sameness. Unity celebrates diversity under a shared Lordship. Within one fold there are different gifts, generations, experiences and callings. Yet there remains one Shepherd, one faith, one Lord and one mission.

As we reflect on the legacy of revival and the promise of future revival, we must ask whether we intend merely to remember revival or become vessels of revival. The God of the 1930s has not changed. The Holy Spirit has not diminished. The Gospel has not lost its power. What remains necessary is a renewed commitment to prayer, holiness, truth, love and unity.

The journey from revelation to manifestation continues. God has already revealed His desire for One Fold, One Shepherd. The challenge before CAC Nigeria and Overseas is whether we are willing to manifest that vision through our conduct, conversations, leadership and service.

This vision is not optional. Jesus prayed that His followers would be one so that the world might believe. Unity therefore has evangelistic significance. It authenticates our witness and reflects the character of Christ.

Let leaders lead in humility. Let members walk in love. Let truth be spoken graciously. Let grace remain anchored in truth. Let every wall of suspicion, competition, offence and division give way to the higher purpose of Christ.

Then revelation will become manifestation. The vision will become culture. The prayer will become experience. The motto will become reality.

Prophetically, I believe the Spirit is calling into a fresh covenant of unity. The revival of the past was built upon dependence on Christ. The revival of the future will be sustained by the same foundation. One Fold. One Shepherd. One Faith. One Purpose. One Kingdom. One Glory.

May God raise a generation that loves enough to tell the truth, is humble enough to receive the truth and is mature enough to walk together in the truth. May every force that seeks to divide the Body yield to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. May love overcome pride, truth overcome deception and Christ be exalted above every personal agenda.

For where Love and Truth dwell together, there the Presence of God abides, the Blessing of God is commanded and the Glory of God is revealed. And when revelation becomes manifestation, the world will see not merely a denomination but a living testimony of the words of Christ: There shall be One Fold and One Shepherd.
