NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs Appoints Amb. Engr. Phil Roberts as Director of Tourism

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) Youth Entrepreneurs (NYE) has announced the appointment of Amb. Engr. Phil Roberts, FCISM, FIHSD, as its Director of Tourism, effective immediately.

The appointment is in recognition of his distinguished record in tourism promotion, strategic leadership, enterprise development, business management, media, and youth empowerment, as well as his sustained commitment to advancing Nigeria’s tourism and creative economy.

A Profile in Leadership and Tourism

Amb. Engr. Phil Roberts is a globally recognised tourism advocate, development strategist, and management professional with an extensive career spanning tourism promotion, business development, media communications, public policy, entrepreneurship, and international partnerships. A Mechanical Engineering graduate with professional fellowships in the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (FCISM) and the Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development (FIHSD), he has built an impressive portfolio of leadership across both public and private sectors.

He currently serves as the Director-General of the Chinese Tourism Promoters Initiative (CTPI), where he has championed tourism cooperation between Africa and China through strategic partnerships, destination marketing, policy advocacy, and international engagement. His leadership has focused on creating sustainable tourism opportunities, strengthening diplomatic relationships, and promoting investment in the tourism sector.

Beyond CTPI, Amb. Roberts has served as Executive Director of the Tourism Volunteers Network, Managing Director of I Mean Business Resources Ltd., and Business Development Manager at BEN TV London (Nigeria Office) and has held several senior positions in communications, media, project management, and public affairs. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional capacity in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, organisational development, fundraising, and policy implementation.

His Role as Director of Tourism

As Director of Tourism, NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs, Amb. Roberts will provide strategic direction for the association’s tourism initiatives by:

Developing innovative tourism programmes that stimulate enterprise growth.
Promoting tourism as a catalyst for youth employment, entrepreneurship, and investment.
Building strategic partnerships with government agencies, the private sector, development organisations, and international stakeholders.
Supporting sustainable tourism policies that enhance Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda.
Creating opportunities for young entrepreneurs to participate meaningfully in the tourism and creative economy value chain.

His appointment aligns with NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs’ vision of harnessing tourism as a powerful driver of inclusive economic growth, innovation, cultural exchange, and national development.

The leadership of NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs has expressed confidence that Amb. Engr.
