Nigeria’s Ambassador Dambazau Presents Credence Documents to Chinese Foreign Ministry Official

Nigeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the People’s Republic of China, Abdulrahman Dambazau, has formally presented copies of his Letters of Credence to a senior Chinese foreign ministry official, marking an important step in his diplomatic assignment.

The documents were received by Mr. Hong Lei, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director-General of the Protocol Department of the People’s Republic of China, in line with established diplomatic procedures.

The presentation of the copies of the Letters of Credence is a key protocol requirement that allows the ambassador to begin preliminary diplomatic engagements ahead of the formal submission of the original credentials to President Xi Jinping.

The development signals the commencement of Ambassador Dambazau’s official duties in China, where he is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and China in areas such as trade, security cooperation, and diplomatic engagement.
