NSCDC Commandant-General Ahmed Audi Resumes Duty After Tenure Extension
The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, has formally resumed duty at the Corps’ National Headquarters in Abuja following the approval of a five-year tenure extension by President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The reception, conducted in line with Corps protocol, featured a ceremonial guard of honour and a formal assembly of senior officers and personnel. The event reflected renewed confidence, unity, and discipline within the Service.
The tenure extension is widely viewed within the NSCDC as recognition of sustained leadership marked by vision, discipline, and transformational stewardship. Under Audi’s leadership, the Corps has recorded notable gains in strategic repositioning, operational strengthening, and institutional reforms, reinforcing its role within Nigeria’s security architecture.
In his remarks, the Commandant-General expressed appreciation to the President for the confidence reposed in him, describing the extension as a collective mandate for greater responsibility. He reaffirmed his commitment to consolidating reforms, strengthening operational capacity, improving personnel welfare, and enhancing the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure.
