The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has urged Corps Members to take advantage of the three-week Orientation Courses to promote national unity and integration regardless of ethnic and religious divisions.
The NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Yushau’ Ahmed gave the advice in his remarks to the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Corps Members undergoing Orientation at the Kaduna State Temporary Orientation Camp at Government College, Kurmi Mashi, Kaduna, North West Nigeria.
He advised them to make friends both during and after the Orientation Course, accept their deployment to Kaduna State in good faith, and show respect for the state’s many cultural traditions.
He warned them against improper dressing adding that violators of NYSC-approved dress codes would be adequately sanctioned.
General Ahmed warned the Corps Members against night traveling while he also appealed to them to be security conscious at all times.
He said, “Don’t travel at night and wherever you are posted to, try and be security conscious.
“The essence of the service year is to expose you to different cultures apart from your own so that you can appreciate others.”
