Operation FANSAN YAMMA: Troops Rescue Six Female Students, Driver in Katsina
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued seven kidnapped victims, including six female students of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The victims were rescued on the evening of September 21, 2026, following a distress call reporting an attack on a commercial vehicle travelling from Kaduna to Katsina along the Daye–Malumfashi Road.
The troops swiftly responded to the incident, forcing the kidnappers to abandon their captives and flee the area.
The rescued victims comprised six female students of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, and the male commercial driver. All seven victims were found unhurt.
They subsequently underwent preliminary security profiling and medical evaluation before being handed over to designated officials for safe reunification with their families and the university authorities.
The latest rescue highlights the continued efforts by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt kidnapping and other criminal activities along major routes across the North-West and ensure the safety of commuters and residents.
