Pastor Dayo Arogundade: Golden in Age, Golden in Heart
Jerry Adesewo
When I was first approached to make a tribute to Pastor Dayo Arogundade at 50, I laughed to myself and thought, “How do you fit such a woman into a single page, a single speech, or a single moment?” To ask anyone to compress the life, impact, and essence of Pastor Dayo into sixty seconds or a few sentences is, indeed, a gross injustice. Sixty seconds cannot even scratch the surface. But then, I paused, reflected, and asked the Holy Spirit to help me find the right words.

Three words were laid on my heart: Visionary, Resourceful, and Unshaken. At first, I hesitated. Could three words truly capture the depth of this woman of God? But the more I meditated, the more I realised that these three words are not just descriptors. They are pillars that define the life and ministry of Pastor Dayo Arogundade.
A Visionary at Heart
To call Pastor Dayo a visionary is to acknowledge her ability to see beyond the ordinary and call forth things that are not yet as though they were. As Shepherd of the Mega Youth Chapel, she has consistently led with foresight and divine wisdom. She is not content with maintaining the status quo; she seeks new ways to inspire the young people she is entrusted with, to nurture them into disciples of Christ, and to prepare them for leadership in church and society.
Her vision has always been anchored on kingdom advancement—raising a generation of believers who are spiritually sound, intellectually sharp, and socially responsible. Whether in her role as Coordinator of the Peculiar Sunday School Teachers or in her broader ministry work, she has demonstrated a rare ability to marry structure with inspiration, ensuring that no one under her watch remains stagnant.
Pastor Dayo has the eyes of an eagle—able to see farther than most, and the heart of a mother—able to nurture with patience and care until the vision becomes reality.
Resourceful in All Seasons
The second word that best captures Pastor Dayo is resourceful. It is one thing to have vision, but quite another to translate that vision into reality. Pastor Dayo has mastered both. Her resourcefulness shines through in the way she turns challenges into stepping stones.
When resources are scarce, she multiplies them. When systems fail, she builds new ones. When others see impossibilities, she sees opportunities. This gift of resourcefulness has made her a development worker per excellence, a woman who has devoted herself not only to spiritual growth but also to social and community development.
She has taught us that to be resourceful is not only about having much, but about making the most of what you have. It is about drawing from the wells of creativity, faith, and determination to build something impactful. Pastor Dayo embodies this principle. From the smallest church projects to larger community initiatives, she has shown that with wisdom, prayer, and dedication, even little can become much in the Master’s hands.
Her resourcefulness has impacted countless lives, especially among women and young people like us, who look to her as an example of strength, grace, and possibility.
Unshaken in Faith and Purpose
The third pillar of Pastor Dayo’s life is that she is unshaken. To be unshaken is not to live without storms, but to stand firm even in the fiercest of storms. Life has surely presented her with trials, yet she has remained steadfast—rooted in faith, anchored in Christ, and unwavering in her commitment to the call of God.
Her calm in the face of crisis, her stability in turbulent seasons, and her steadfastness in prayer have become a source of strength to many. Pastor Dayo is not easily swayed by the noise of the world, the doubts of detractors, or the weight of challenges. Instead, she is grounded—like the tree planted by rivers of water, whose leaves do not wither and who bears fruit in due season.
Her unshaken character is what makes her not just a leader but a pillar, not just a teacher but a testimony. To serve under her leadership is to learn how to stand strong in faith, how to remain joyful in hope, and how to keep serving even when the world tempts you to quit.
A Golden Journey at 50

Those who have walked with her know her to be firm yet loving, strong yet tender, practical yet deeply spiritual. She has mentored many, inspired countless, and impacted lives far beyond the walls of Mega Youth Chapel or the Peculiar Sunday School Teachers.
Turning 50 is not just a celebration of years lived, but of lives touched. And in Pastor Dayo’s case, the testimonies are endless.
