President Tinubu Appoints New Heads, Board Members for 10 Federal Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals into key positions across 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions, as part of efforts to strengthen public institutions and improve service delivery.

The appointments, announced on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect.

Among the appointments, former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, was named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), while Major General Junaid Bindawa (Rtd.) was appointed Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.

At the Rural Electrification Agency, Fayose will serve alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as non-executive board members. The agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and the previously appointed executive directors will complete the board.

For the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, President Tinubu also appointed Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, a former member of the House of Representatives, as Secretary of the Commission.

Other commissioners appointed to the commission include Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo) and Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna), while Dr. Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi) were named as members.

The President also redeployed Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who was previously appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), to serve as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

Other appointments include:

Dr. Abuh Mohammed – Director-General, National Population Commission (NPC).

Dr. Akinola Odeyemi – Managing Director, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET).

Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.

Engineer Julius Oloro – Chief Executive Officer, National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), Ilorin, succeeding the late Dr. A.R. Kamal.

President Tinubu also approved the constitution of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission Board, with Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman.

Other members of the board are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.

In addition, Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was reassigned to the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) earlier this year.

To fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mathias Byuan as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), the President appointed Gisaor Vincent Iorja, an economist, legal scholar and Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).

The Presidency said the appointments are aimed at strengthening governance, enhancing institutional efficiency and advancing the administration’s development agenda across critical sectors of the economy.
