Stakeholder Engagement: FIRS to Host Public Webinar on Taxpayer Services, Fiscal Reforms

By Matthew Eloyi

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced plans to host a public webinar aimed at engaging stakeholders on key taxpayer service initiatives and ongoing fiscal reforms within Nigeria’s tax system.

The virtual session, scheduled for Tuesday, 17th June 2025 at 11:00 AM, will be held via Zoom and is being organised by the FIRS Taxpayer Services Department (TPSD) in collaboration with the Fiscal and Tax Reform Implementation Division (FTRID).

According to a statement signed by Arabirin Aderonke Atoyebi, Technical Assistant on Broadcast Media to the Executive Chairman of FIRS, the webinar is part of the agency’s continued commitment to transparency, taxpayer education, and public engagement.

“This important session is designed to enhance public understanding of recent improvements in taxpayer services, clarify ongoing reform efforts within Nigeria’s tax system, and provide an open platform for taxpayers, stakeholders, and the general public to interact directly with FIRS representatives,” the statement said.

The FIRS has called on interested participants to join the session, which aims to promote voluntary tax compliance and ease of tax administration. The Service also appealed to media partners to support the initiative by amplifying awareness across traditional and digital platforms.

“Your esteemed cooperation in this regard will go a long way in boosting awareness and fostering a deeper connection with our valued taxpayers,” Atoyebi noted.

She said further details, including the Zoom registration link, will be shared through the official communication channels of the FIRS in the coming days.
