The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, has led a Nigerian delegation to a high-level digital governance training programme organised by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), in partnership with Sangmyung University and the Korea Productivity Centre, in Seoul, South Korea.

Speaking on behalf of the delegates, the National Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr Vincent Olatunji, commended the organisers for providing the training opportunity.

Olatunji highlighted KOICA’s support for Nigeria’s digital governance development, particularly its contributions to the development of the country’s eGovernment Masterplan 1.0 and 2.0.

He also outlined the Nigerian Government’s efforts to implement its digital agenda, with emphasis on policy development, infrastructure and human capital development.

The NDPC chief executive assured the organisers that the Nigerian delegates would maximise the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge and apply the lessons learned to the country’s digital governance initiatives.

The training brought together key stakeholders in Nigeria’s digital governance architecture, with the aim of strengthening strategic leadership through policy benchmarking and knowledge exchange on South Korea’s digital government system.
