Troops Neutralise Terrorists’ Explosive Devices Along Zamfara Road

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have neutralised explosive devices planted by terrorists along the Magami–Hannutara–Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The devices were reportedly planted to cause destruction and endanger the lives of commuters using the busy route.

Acting on credible intelligence, the troops secured the affected area and conducted a thorough search, during which they discovered two locations where explosive devices had been planted.

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was subsequently deployed to address the threat. The team successfully destroyed one of the devices and safely recovered and rendered the second device harmless.

Following the operation, troops intensified patrols and surveillance along the road and in surrounding communities to protect residents, ensure the safety of commuters and prevent further security threats.

Members of the public have been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious objects or activities to the nearest security agency.

The operation highlights the importance of timely intelligence and proactive security measures in preventing attacks and protecting lives and property in Zamfara State.
