The successful rescues followed swift military interventions in response to attacks on commuters and farmers in different parts of the state. Military authorities said the operations underscore ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable communities and deny criminal elements freedom of action.
In one of the operations, troops acted on credible intelligence that terrorists had intercepted two civilian vehicles along the Sabon Birni–Shinkafi Road at Kura Mota village and abducted several passengers.
The troops immediately mobilised to the area and launched a pursuit operation against the attackers. Under sustained pressure from the security forces, the terrorists reportedly abandoned their captives and fled.
Seventeen kidnapped passengers were subsequently rescued unharmed.
In a separate operation, troops responded to a distress call from Chohi village following an attack on farmers working on their farmlands.
According to the military, troops swiftly deployed to the area, tracked the fleeing assailants and rescued a family of five who had been abducted during the attack.
The rescued victims were later reunited with members of their community.
Military authorities described the operations as a demonstration of Operation FANSAN YAMMA’s commitment to protecting lives and property, particularly farmers and commuters who remain targets of attacks by terrorists and bandits.
The military reaffirmed its resolve to sustain offensive operations against criminal elements and maintain pressure on terrorist groups operating across the region.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA added that efforts would continue to ensure a safer environment for residents and support ongoing measures aimed at restoring peace and stability in the North-West.
