“What Would Apostle Ayo Babalola Say to CAC Nigeria and Overseas Today?”
A Pentecostal Movement at the Crossroads of Heritage and Renewal
“What Would Apostle Ayo Babalola Say to CAC Nigeria and Overseas Today?”
By Professor Ojo Emmanuel Ademola, General Evangelist, CAC Nigeria and Overseas
There comes a time in the life of a Church when metaphors become mirrors. At this point in our history, we must agree—without sentiment, without fear, and without political varnish—that the Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, has become synonymous with original honey that has lost its sweetness. A heritage once defined by apostolic fire, doctrinal purity, and revival intensity now struggles under the weight of internal fragmentation, competing conferences, and structures that emerged outside the apostolic order. The sweetness of our beginnings—rooted in holiness, sacrifice, and prophetic obedience—has been diluted by decades of administrative improvisation and the persistence of bodies that have no legitimacy within the constitutional and spiritual framework of the Church.
The coming week, between 21st and 26th September 2026, will witness diverse Pastors’ Conferences convened by factions that are obvious, factions that are subtle, and groups that categorise themselves as independent. These parallel gatherings are not signs of vitality; they are symptoms of a deeper malaise. They reveal a Church that has drifted from its apostolic centre, a Church that has allowed rebellion to masquerade as structure, and a Church that has not yet confronted the historical breach of 1990 with the courage required for true healing. Renewal Theology teaches that fragmentation is never neutral; it is always a sign that ancient landmarks have been abandoned.

The prevailing critique remains unchanged: What would Apostle Ayo Babalola say to CAC Nigeria and Overseas today? His voice, though silent in the flesh, continues to echo through the corridors of our history. He would not recognise a Church divided by conferences. He would not endorse structures birthed in rebellion. He would not accept a governance model that elevates political negotiation above spiritual authority. His message would be the same as it was in his day—return to holiness, return to unity, return to revival, return to the apostolic foundations that God Himself established.
This question is not rhetorical; it is prophetic. It is the mirror through which the Christ Apostolic Church must now examine itself. For if the Church that God raised through the labour, sacrifice, and consecration of Apostle Babalola has become honey that has lost its sweetness, then the call to renewal is not optional—it is urgent, Scriptural, and unavoidable.
The Covenant of Latter Rain Revival Still Speaks: A Divine Mandate CAC Nigeria and Overseas Cannot Escape
The Covenant of Latter Rain Revival upon CAC Nigeria and Overseas is not a denominational memory but a divine decree woven into the spiritual DNA of this Pentecostal movement. It is a covenant sealed by the Spirit, witnessed by our fathers, and preserved in the prophetic archives of heaven. This covenant cannot be broken, diluted, renegotiated, or replaced by any human structure—least of all by councils or factions that arose outside apostolic order. Renewal Theology affirms that when God establishes a covenant of revival, He binds Himself to the future of that movement, and He summons every generation to fidelity, holiness, and unity.
Therefore, the message must go forth without sentiment, without fear, and without political varnish: CAC Nigeria and Overseas must return to the covenant that birthed it. This is not a call to nostalgia; it is a call to divine alignment. It is a summons to every faithful hearer across the nations to recognise that the Latter Rain mandate is still active, still speaking, still demanding obedience. Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying to CAC Nigeria and Overseas, for the covenant stands as a witness against rebellion and as a promise to the remnant.
Let Those Who Have Ears Hear: A Prophetic Call in the Light of Christ’s Imminent Return
In this hour of global shaking and ecclesiastical fragmentation, the Spirit speaks with unmistakable urgency to CAC Nigeria and Overseas: Return to holiness, return to unity, return to revival, return to the apostolic foundations that God Himself established. This call is not sentimental; it is eschatological. Renewal Theology teaches that every covenant of revival is ultimately an eschatological covenant—preparing a purified, consecrated, Spirit‑filled remnant for the return of the Bridegroom.
The imminent Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ demands that the Church abandon every pursuit that does not align with His purpose. It demands that every illegitimate structure be exposed, every rebellious foundation be dismantled, and every heart be brought under divine order. The prophetic call is therefore clear: Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying to CAC Nigeria and Overseas. Time is running out. The trumpet is near. The Bridegroom is at the door. Only a Church aligned with its covenant and its landmarks will stand in the day of His appearing.
Returning to Ancient Landmarks
The Scriptures warn with unmistakable clarity against the removal of ancient landmarks, for such landmarks are not merely historical markers but divine boundaries established to preserve identity, doctrine, and covenant fidelity. In the Christ Apostolic Church, these landmarks form the spiritual architecture of our heritage. They represent doctrinal purity shaped by holiness and sanctification, the revival culture sustained by prayer, fasting, and prophetic obedience, the unity of the Spirit that once held the Church together, and the apostolic governance rooted in spiritual authority rather than political negotiation.
To return to ancient landmarks is to embrace doctrinal purity with renewed seriousness, recognising that holiness is not an optional virtue but the very essence of Christian identity. Renewal Theology insists that revival begins with holiness, for without holiness no man shall see the Lord. The CAC must therefore recover its historic commitment to purity of doctrine, not as nostalgia but as a Scriptural imperative.
Returning to ancient landmarks also demands a restoration of the revival culture that once defined the CAC. Prayer, fasting, and prophetic obedience were the engines of spiritual vitality that propelled the Church into national significance. Renewal Theology teaches that revival is not an event but a continuous posture of surrender to the Holy Spirit. Administrative reforms without spiritual renewal will produce stability but never transformation.
The unity of the Spirit must be restored with urgency. Scripture teaches that unity is the triumph of shared purpose over personal ambition. The fragmentation that has plagued the CAC for decades is a direct consequence of departing from this landmark. Renewal Theology asserts that unity requires humility, repentance, and a collective return to apostolic foundations.
Apostolic governance remains the most critical landmark. The CAC was never designed to be governed by political blocs or administrative improvisations. Its governance was rooted in spiritual authority, Scriptural order, and the apostolic structures established by our fathers. Any body that arose outside this order—such as the GEC—cannot possess legitimacy and must not be treated as leadership.
These landmarks are not relics of a bygone era; they are the compass for our future. They are the Scriptural arc through which the Church must interpret its identity, mission, and destiny. To return to them is to embrace renewal, restoration, and revival. To ignore them is to risk irrelevance, decline, and spiritual confusion.
Prophetic Instruction to Those Working Against the One Mat God Has Laid for CAC Nigeria and Overseas
There is a One Mat—a singular apostolic foundation—laid by God for CAC Nigeria and Overseas. It is the mat of holiness, unity, revival, and apostolic governance. It is the mat upon which Apostle Ayo Babalola walked, prayed, travailed, and laboured. It is the mat upon which the Covenant of Latter Rain Revival was sealed. It is the mat upon which the fathers stood when they declared that this Church must remain a prophetic witness to the nations.
To those who are working against this One Mat—those who sow division, those who perpetuate rebellion, those who elevate human ambition above divine order—the prophetic verdict is now clear: your time is over. The season of manipulation, fragmentation, and spiritual sabotage has reached its end. The Spirit of God has drawn a line in the sand, and every force that stands against the apostolic foundation of CAC Nigeria and Overseas must now bow.
Those who labour against the One Mat do not merely oppose a Church; they oppose a covenant. They do not merely resist a structure; they resist the Spirit. They do not merely challenge history; they challenge heaven. And heaven has spoken: the mat shall stand, the covenant shall speak, and the revival shall come.
The masters behind such rebellion—whether the spirit of Satan, the lure of Mammon, or the whisperings of other dark influences—have lost their grip. Their season of influence is closed. Their schemes are exposed. Their power is broken. Renewal Theology teaches that when God restores His house, He first dismantles every altar built in defiance of His order. That dismantling has begun.
Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying to CAC Nigeria and Overseas:
Return to the One Mat.
Return to the covenant.
Return to holiness.
Return to unity.
Return to revival.
Return to the apostolic foundations that God Himself established.
For the imminent Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ demands that every rebellion be judged, every illegitimate structure be removed, and every heart be aligned with divine order. The Bridegroom is at the door. The trumpet is near. The Church must be found faithful, not fragmented; consecrated, not compromised; united, not divided.
Those who continue to fight against the One Mat will find themselves fighting against God. And no man, no council, no faction, no spirit has ever prevailed against Him.
This is the hour of truth.
This is the hour of return.
This is the hour of prophetic alignment.
Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying to CAC Nigeria and Overseas.
The Imminent Expectation of Christ’s Return
The Second Coming of Christ is not a distant theological concept; it is an imminent reality that demands sober reflection from every believer and every institution that bears the name of the Lord. The CAC must evaluate its actions in the light of eternity, not in the shadow of human politics. What will Christ find? A Church distracted by internal power struggles or a Church anchored in truth? A Church divided by structures that emerged from rebellion or a Church united by apostolic foundations? A Church preoccupied with titles or a Church consumed by revival?
The urgency of Christ’s return requires abandoning every pursuit that does not align with His purpose. This includes rejecting any structure or council that arose outside the apostolic and constitutional order of the Church. Renewal Theology insists that only what is rooted in divine order can stand in the day of Christ. The call to eternal perspective is therefore not directed to the GEC as a governing authority—because it is not one—but to every individual within the CAC who must repent, return to ancient landmarks, and align with truth before the Lord returns.
Conclusion: The Hour of Covenant, Truth, and Apostolic Return
The Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, stands at a decisive and irreversible crossroads. One path leads deeper into political entanglement, institutional confusion, and spiritual decline—a path shaped by human ambition, illegitimate structures, and the lingering shadows of rebellion. The other path leads back to heritage, back to revival, back to unity, and back to apostolic restoration—a path illuminated by the Covenant of Latter Rain Revival and sustained by the ancient landmarks laid by our fathers.
The choice before us is no longer theoretical; it is prophetic. The sweetness of our honey can be restored, but only through repentance that is genuine, truth that is unfiltered, and a courageous return to the foundations upon which God Himself established this Church. Renewal Theology teaches that every true revival begins with a return, and every return begins with a confrontation of what has gone wrong. CAC Nigeria and Overseas must therefore confront every illegitimate structure, every rebellious foundation, and every altar erected outside divine order. This confrontation is not an act of hostility; it is an act of covenant fidelity.
May CAC choose the path of truth—truth that liberates, truth that restores, truth that aligns us once again with the prophetic identity entrusted to us.
May every illegitimate structure be confronted with courage, dismantled with conviction, and replaced with the apostolic order that heaven recognises.
May the Church return to its ancient landmarks—holiness, unity, revival, and apostolic governance—so that the Covenant of Latter Rain Revival may speak again with power.
And may we all walk faithfully in the footsteps of our fathers, standing upon the One Mat God has laid for this Church, as we await the imminent and glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For the Bridegroom is at the door. The trumpet is near. The covenant still speaks.
Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying to CAC Nigeria and Overseas.
