Gombe: Governor Yahaya Hails Islamic Icon Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi on His 100th Birthday
In a heartfelt tribute, the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, celebrated the 100th birthday of the esteemed Islamic cleric and spiritual leader of the Tijjaniyya, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
This was contained in a press statement signed and made available to newsmen in Gombe by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Government of Gombe, Sama’ila Uba Misilli, on Tuesday.
Governor Yahaya lauded Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as a monumental figure in the Islamic community, recognised for his profound mastery of the Quran, Hadith, and Fiqh, as well as his deep spiritual insight into Sufism.
“Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s teachings have transcended generations, enriching countless lives with his deep and insightful exegesis of the sacred Qur’an. Throughout his life, he has remained a pillar and moral compass in our society,” the governor remarked.
The governor commended the spiritual leader’s unwavering dedication to nurturing moral and spiritual values.
He noted that Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s relentless commitment has been instrumental in shaping the character and faith of his followers and offspring, while also playing a significant role in promoting unity, peace, and religious tolerance.
“Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi’s centenary is not just a celebration of his life but a reaffirmation of the timeless values he embodies and the legacy built on the principles of integrity, humility, and piety,” Governor Yahaya emphasised.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya concluded by praying for Almighty Allah to continue to bless Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi with good health and a long life, enabling him to continue guiding the ummah.
