Tinubu Arrives Kenya for Africa Forward Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Nairobi in the early hours of Monday to participate in the highly anticipated Africa Forward Summit.

The presidential aircraft touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at approximately 12:18 a.m. local time.

President Tinubu was received on arrival by Musalia Mudavadi, Kenya’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Isaac Parashina, alongside senior Kenyan government officials and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Kenya.

The summit is being co-hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron.

According to the Presidency, President Tinubu’s participation reflects Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening African unity, deepening regional economic cooperation, and promoting strategic partnerships aimed at accelerating sustainable development across the continent.

The Africa Forward Summit is expected to bring together African leaders, policymakers, business executives, development partners, and other stakeholders to discuss issues including economic transformation, trade expansion, digital innovation, infrastructure development, climate resilience, and continental prosperity.

During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to participate in high-level bilateral and multilateral engagements aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic relations with African nations and international partners.

The President is accompanied on the trip by several top government officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Bianca Ojukwu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Environment Balarabe Abbas Lawal, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Jumoke Oduwole, and Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy Bosun Tijani.

Others on the delegation include Sola Enikanolaiye, Director-General of the National Council on Climate Change, Omotenioye Majekodunmi, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke.
