NADF, NIRSAL Deepen Partnership on Agricultural Mechanisation, Financing

The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) and NIRSAL Plc have agreed to strengthen collaboration on agricultural mechanisation, financing, and value-chain development aimed at boosting food security in Nigeria.

The renewed partnership was discussed during a meeting held in Abuja, building on earlier engagements between both institutions on agricultural financing and primary production support.

Speaking at the meeting, NADF Executive Secretary/CEO, Mohammed A. Ibrahim, said stronger institutional cooperation is essential to improving agricultural productivity and ensuring sustainable impact across the sector.

He noted that current realities in Nigeria’s agricultural landscape require more coordinated efforts among development agencies to maximise limited resources and drive efficiency.

“The current realities within Nigeria’s agricultural sector demand stronger institutional collaboration capable of maximising limited resources and delivering sustainable impact across the agricultural value chain,” he said.

On his part, NIRSAL Plc Executive Director (Operations), Ewaen Imohe, emphasised that access to financing remains a key driver of mechanisation and increased productivity in agriculture.

“Accessible and affordable financing remains a critical pillar for improving mechanisation and agricultural productivity,” he stated.

The meeting also explored opportunities in irrigation-supported farming, concessional financing structures, and technology-driven monitoring systems aimed at improving efficiency and accountability in agricultural investments.

Both institutions agreed that technical teams would continue working on practical partnership frameworks designed to strengthen food security and expand agricultural output nationwide.
