NASENI Trains 50 Women in Renewable Energy Skills in Kano

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has trained and equipped 50 women in Kano State with renewable energy skills under its She-Powers Energy Initiative, aimed at promoting women’s participation in the clean energy sector.

The programme, spearheaded by the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, Dr. Khalil Halilu, provided participants with practical training in renewable energy technologies and related technical skills to enhance their economic empowerment and employability.

As part of the initiative, NASENI, in collaboration with AMG Worldwide Ltd., presented certificates and NASENI-branded toolkits to the beneficiaries upon the completion of their training.

The agency said the initiative is designed to bridge the gender gap in the energy sector by equipping women with the knowledge and tools needed to participate actively in Nigeria’s growing renewable energy industry.

The beneficiaries are expected to leverage the skills acquired to create livelihood opportunities, support clean energy adoption within their communities, and contribute to sustainable development.

NASENI noted that the She-Powers Energy Initiative aligns with its broader mandate of promoting technological innovation, skills development and inclusive economic growth across the country.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to expanding opportunities for women and young people through science, technology and engineering-based empowerment programmes.
