IGP Disu Hosts Former Police Chiefs, Seeks Support for Ongoing Reforms
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Thursday received a delegation of former Inspectors-General of Police at the Force Headquarters in Abuja as part of efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration and advance policing reforms.
The delegation comprised retired IGPs Aliyu Attah, Sunday Ehindero, Mike Okiro, Ogbonna Onovo, Abubakar Ringim, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar, Sulaiman Abba, Usman Alkali Baba and Kayode Egbetokun.
According to the Nigeria Police Force, the meeting focused on drawing from the institutional experience and strategic expertise of the former police chiefs to address emerging security challenges and support ongoing reforms within the Force.
Discussions also centred on enhancing operational effectiveness and improving policing strategies through the contributions of the retired Inspectors-General.
Speaking during the meeting, IGP Disu expressed appreciation to his predecessors for the visit, describing their wealth of experience and institutional memory as invaluable to the continued growth and transformation of the Nigeria Police Force.
He reaffirmed his commitment to working with past and present stakeholders to strengthen policing, improve public safety and advance reforms aimed at building a more professional and effective police service.
