Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to remain united and continue supporting the government at all levels to accelerate the state’s growth and development.
Governor Bago made the appeal during a meeting with aspirants who contested but were unsuccessful in the APC primary elections for the Senate, House of Representatives and Niger State House of Assembly seats.
The meeting was held at the Hauwa Wali Multipurpose Hall, Government House, Minna.
The governor commended the aspirants for their maturity, patience and commitment to the party, urging them to remain steadfast and continue contributing to the progress of the APC and the development of Niger State.
He assured them that his administration operates an open-door policy and would provide opportunities for them to serve in various key positions within the government.
Governor Bago reaffirmed his commitment to implementing people-centred policies and programmes, urging the aspirants to join hands with his administration in building a prosperous Niger State.
He also reiterated his resolve to complete all ongoing projects across the state before the expiration of his tenure.
The governor further cautioned individuals who use social media platforms to spread false information, urging them to adhere to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, 2011, warning that anyone found violating the law would face legal consequences.
In their separate remarks, the APC National Vice Chairman (North Central), Mu’azu Bawa, and the Niger State APC Chairman, Musa Bobi, commended Governor Bago’s leadership, describing it as instrumental in strengthening the party in the state.
Representatives of the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly aspirants also applauded the governor for his reconciliation efforts and reaffirmed their loyalty and commitment to the unity and progress of the APC in Niger State.
