Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Group, affirmed the company’s commitment to local content values, positioning it as a trailblaser in championing economic growth within Nigeria and across Africa.

Represented by his Special Adviser, Fatima Wali-Abdulrahman, at the ongoing Kaduna International Trade Fair, Dangote emphasised the significance of harnessing local potential for the benefit of communities.

Local content, according to Wali-Abdulrahman, is a core focus for Dangote Industries Limited (DIL). The company, under Aliko Dangote’s visionary leadership, has been instrumental in job creation, community empowerment, and sustainable economic growth by investing in local industries, talent, and resources.

The theme of the 45th series of the Kaduna Trade Fair, “Sustainable Economic Recovery Through Deepening of Local Content Value Chain,” aligns with Dangote Group’s commitment to deepening local content values across its various business sectors. Wali-Abdulrahman highlighted that Dangote Industries sources limestone locally, making it the largest employer of local labor in Nigeria.

She noted the strategic investments made by Dangote Group in industrialisation, spanning cement, sugar, salt, agriculture, and oil & gas. “These investments leverage local resources, contributing significantly to the Nigeria’s GDP while achieving results such as employment creation, skills enhancement, and capacity building,” she said.

Wali-Abdulrahman emphasised Dangote’s philanthropic efforts through the Aliko Dangote Foundation, expressing continued support for the people and government of Kaduna State and Nigeria.

Acknowledging the theme of the trade fair as a call to prioritise and deepen commitment to local content values, she urged Nigerians to visit the Dangote pavilion, showcasing innovative products.

President of KADCCIMA, Ishaya Idi, praised the theme as a critical economic game-changer, focusing on the need for value addition to solid minerals, agricultural commodities, and raw materials. He appreciated Aliko Dangote for consistently supporting KADCCIMA, enhancing the competitiveness of Nigeria in the global market through aggressive value chain development.

Idi congratulated Aliko Dangote on the remarkable progress of the Dangote Group, citing the Dangote Refinery’s reported status as one of the world’s largest and the success of Dangote fertilizer in making farmers, both local and international, satisfied with its high quality.
