APC Campaign Council Accuses ADC of Owing Staff Over One Year’s Salaries

The APC Presidential Campaign Council has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Senator David Mark as Chairman and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as Secretary, of failing to pay its staff for more than a year.

In a statement issued on October 26, 2026, the council’s spokesperson, Dele Alake, described the alleged non-payment of salaries as unacceptable, arguing that workers who depend on their earnings for daily sustenance should not be left without pay for such an extended period.

Alake questioned the ADC’s ability to manage the country’s affairs if it could not meet its financial obligations to its own workforce.

He also criticised the party’s leadership and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, accusing them of making promises to Nigerians without demonstrating the capacity to fulfil them.

The APC spokesperson further alleged that employees of Atiku’s Gotel Communication and other businesses had experienced months of unpaid salaries and staged protests over outstanding wages and benefits.

He also criticised Aregbesola’s record as governor of Osun State, alleging that his administration struggled to pay workers and pensioners during his eight-year tenure.

According to Alake, the administration introduced quarter-salary and half-salary payments at different times, while pensioners allegedly went for years without receiving their full entitlements.

He linked the allegations against the ADC’s leadership to what he described as a failure to prioritise workers’ welfare.

Alake urged Nigerians and workers to reject the ADC, Atiku Abubakar and the party’s candidates in the next general elections, arguing that the party had not demonstrated the capacity to manage public affairs responsibly.

He maintained that any political party seeking to govern Nigeria should be able to demonstrate accountability and effectively manage its internal affairs, including the payment of staff salaries.
