The pavilion of the Dangote Group turned into a beehive of activity on Saturday as participants trooped in to celebrate the company’s Special Day at the ongoing 20th Abuja International Trade Fair.
The event, organized by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors from across Nigeria and beyond, with the Dangote Group once again taking centre stage.
Visitors thronged the company’s stand to make enquiries about the Dangote Refinery and explore the Group’s vast range of products spanning cement, sugar, salt, fertiliser, and other consumer goods.
One of the visitors, Peter Abdul, expressed admiration for the company’s product lineup, describing the Dangote brand as a “symbol of quality and national pride.” Another participant from Kano, Ibrahim Rogo, said he was particularly interested in opportunities within the petroleum and polypropylene value chain, adding that he had already established contact with the company for future engagement.
The pavilion also received members of the diplomatic corps, who sought information on Dangote Sinotruk West Africa Limited — the Group’s truck manufacturing subsidiary known for boosting local capacity in logistics and transportation.
Speaking on behalf of the company, General Manager Hashem Ahmed said every Dangote product represents more than just business value but also contributes to job creation and economic growth.
“Every bag of cement, every tonne of fertiliser, every litre of petroleum product, and every grain of sugar you consume from Dangote represents a job for a Nigerian, a contract for a local supplier, an opportunity for a small business, and a step toward a more prosperous Nigeria,” he said.
Ahmed also appreciated the company’s distributors and partners for their loyalty and support, describing them as “the engine behind Dangote’s consistent growth.”
He further commended the ACCI for the successful organization of the Fair and for adopting the theme “Sustainability: Consumption, Incentives, and Taxation,” noting that it aligns with the Group’s long-term vision of promoting industrial growth and national self-reliance.
In his remarks, the President of ACCI, Chief Emeka Obegolu, lauded the Dangote Group for its enduring partnership with the Chamber and its contribution to the visibility and success of the Abuja International Trade Fair.
“The Dangote Group has consistently demonstrated that sustainability and innovation are not just aspirations but practical business strategies,” Dr. Obegolu said.
He noted that the Group’s investments in cement, sugar, salt, fertiliser, agriculture, and energy sectors have strengthened Nigeria’s manufacturing base, promoting value addition and industrial self-sufficiency.

The Chamber president also expressed appreciation to the Group President, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, for his commitment to advancing Nigeria’s economy and for supporting initiatives that promote trade, entrepreneurship, and business growth.
Obegolu highlighted ACCI’s four operational centres — the Abuja Trade Centre (ATC), the Business Entrepreneurship and Skills Technology (BEST) Centre, the Dispute Resolution Centre (DRC), and the Policy Advocacy Centre (PAC) — which, alongside 16 trade groups, continue to drive business development in partnership with organizations like the Dangote Group.
